Today, 30th Mar 2013, the 11th AGM will be held at the Multi-purpose Hall commencing 2.00pm.

How the estate will be managed and maintained for anothe year will be determined by this AGM. As usual, the outcome of all decisions in the AGM will be determined by the votes of those present in the Meeting as well as votes held by appointed proxies. In past years, proxy votes had determined many important decisions. This year, we have an important decision on proposals to increase the Maintenance Fee as well as several other decisions involving big expenses. If the presence of Subsidiary Proprietors are low, then these decisions will again be determined by the proxy votes.

If you want to have your say as a Subsidiary Proprietor, you will have to make your presence felt, by attending the AGM in person.

Be there or be square. See you there.

Results of voting on Resolutions:

Management Fund to be increased by $6 to $68/share value per month.
Resolution on gym upgrading and refurbishment defeated.
Resolution to replace the intercom system with the entry phone system accepted.
Resolution to install spikes to deal with pigeon problems defeated.
Resolution to upgrade Blk 92 children's playground defeated.

The attendance was one of the best for an AGM.
Lively debate on the Resolutions.
Largest number of volunteers for councilors.

Well done, man! All the big expense Resolutions were defeated. The passed increment is less than half of the original asked for. I would have preferred no increment at all.

Hurrah! Its sweet victory for us. Less than half of the proposed increment and all those big-budget proposals got beaten down. Let's hope the next council will be more cost conscious and work on those cost-cutting measures proposed by Mr. Ng.

I heard Mr. Ng will be out of the next council. There was a group which formed a majority in the previus council. They carried many proxy votes with them. They didn't like Mr. Ng for speaking out against the Resolutions. Perhaps they blamed him for the defeats of these Resolutions and they got him out of the next council.

This is bad news for the condo. This same group of people will form the majority in d new council and make decisions for their own interest.

What happened? The evil of proxy votes again?
I tell you guys, next AGM, this same group of people will come up with the same Resolutions again. But there will be no Resolutions to increase the Maintenance Fee. In this case, the attendance in the AGM will be low and the Resoluions will be carried through by proxy votes. We are only safe for one year. This is the hard facts of condo living.

Mr. Ng made the mistake of being missing-in-action at the critical moment of the meeting. He was not there to defend himself.when he was attacked.

They email to me the summary of the AGM. I don't know if it is because I am on their mailing list or they have made a special effort to let me know how badly I did in the election for councilors.

Simply put, I stayed away to avoid ugly scenes of mud-slingings.

Staying away while you were being attacked was your gravest mistake. The way I see it,this is politicking. In condo politics, like other politics, you hv to be ruthless.
